They do put cilantro and onions on real tacos, but they typically use chopped or shredded cabbage instead of lettuce.

I agree with Spareribs - chapulines can be pretty tasty! The local Oaxacan restaurant (Guelaguetza, highly recommended if you are in LA) serves them. You'll notice that they're only listed on the Spanish side of the menu.

I've eaten various insects and worms before... don't really care for them. Not much for flavour, and I have a devil of a time picking stuff out of my teeth afterwards.

I find grasshoppers to be a novelty only - there is nothing terribly pleasant about eating them, and in fact it reminds me of eating wood chips


I am AMAZED at the number of guacamole haters, however - Guac is a gift from the gods!

yeh, i'd try it if i saw it on sale to see what it tastes like (i'm asian, i eaten stranger stuff).
