I need a recommendation for a DAP, Headphones, and possibly and amp below $300. I will be using this for metal and classical music. I would like to get IEMs for the headphones. I would like the DAP to be at least 8GB and with a SD slot for expansion. If I forgot to mention anything just ask. Thanks for your help.

s:flo2 (amazing sound quality in a DAP + MicroSD expansion).
as for the IEM's , I'm not into the IEM scene so someone else will have to help you out there . :P

i think especially for a first rig, you might be able to just go fuze ($70/8gb) or clip+ ($60/8gb) (if you don't care much for display) (+microSD as needed for expansion, $20 for 8gb class6) and then maybe RE0 ($79, great buy for under $100 and should be able to cover your musical needs i think). no amp required. much less than what your budget calls for but i think it should be sufficient. this rig would only be $160-170 brand new (even less if you wanted to get used stuff). if you're not satisfied, then you could always look for something else. i found that when i was starting out, i had to try out a bunch of different phones for comfort, isolation, etc. i think i'm finally settling down with my portable rig after a couple different DAPs, and many, many different IEMs, buds, and a few amps as well.
good luck on finding what you need.

I'm gonna vote for a s:flo2/ T51. Around 150 shipped for a 8 gig one (just google it, there's sites that sell it to the states) then get some IEMs. The T51 is an amazing player.
Since you listen to classical, I'd suggest the ER-4Ps or the RE0s. However for metal, those don't provide the heaviest bass in IEMs so you might be disappointed in that.
You can get some Triple.Fi 10s for around 200 now... those are great with Metal and Classical.

I would suggest the RE0's a nice DAP, and maybe a FiiO E7?
