Nice to see those HD600s there lol.

Well Sennheiser's lower-end stuff isn't exactly marketed towards audiophiles. So I dunno if we can really say this is a victory for audiophilia.

More stores that I have seen are distributing more Sennheiser wares. 5-6 years ago, you'd never see any Sennheiser headphones sold anywhere in the city of Fairbanks, Alaska. Today, I can go to 6 major sellers (Walmart, Sam's Club, Office Max, Sears, Fred Meyers or Radio Shack) and pick up a pair, whereas I can only go to one or two to get Bose. Senn is getting very aggressive about marketing and distribution and it is beginning to show. Where I could walk on campus back in my undergrad years and expect to see mostly Sony, Skullcandy, iBuds and Bose, I now walk around and see that the demographic has changed to Sony, Skullcandy, JVC and Sennheiser.

eh, I still see a lot of bose on my campus.

Sennheiser is more popular than Bose now, could it be HYPE? Maybe some people are finally "HEARING" , seeing the difference!

It could reflect the average consumer's increasing savvy when it comes to product research. Even my Pa will check reviews and prices before plunking down cash at a B&M.

Around here Sennheiser has long been the one that people think first when you talk about quality headphones.

I don't think I have ever seen Bose being sold in person or know anyone who has Bose headphones (or any other gear either).

Maybe if Senn continues to sell well in stores and people start to understand that Bose isn't really all it's cracked up to be, Bose will be forced to actually follow their tagline, "better sound through research".

I'm confused. Where's the data supporting the OP's assertion?
