Ok as the thread title states I'll be looking at getting another pair of headphones to replace the ones i have now.I'll be using them for about 60% gaming and 35% music with the last 5% being movies. So obviously i want something that has at least as good of a sound stage as the JVCs.I'll be using them to listen to 70s style rock along with rap and hip-hop.So something will good strong punchy bass that goes deep and yet is controlled so it sounds good with rock.So far these are the headphones I've been looking at.
1.The M-Audio Q40:I think these will be just about perfect for me just not sure how the sound stage is in comparison to the JVCs.
2.ATH-M50:These again sound just about perfect just not sure about the comfort of the headphones as some have said it can be uncomfortable for some. Also heard its a bit of a mix between Supra-Aural and Circum-Aural so not sure if i would really like that.
3.Equation Audio RP-21/22 x:Heard the highs on these are a bit recessed without mods so not sure if its right for me or not.But sound stage is supposed to be good along with the bass. But almost seems like the M50s are a better deal for the same money. Also heard it feels like having two plungers stuck to your head.
4.Last but not least the Shure 840s:The most expensive out of the bunch but maybe be the best bet for a do it all closed can. Also thinking about the 440s for less though some have said its quite a bit less bassy than the others.
So anyway thats what I've got so far.Would ease my head a bit if i got some input from the good folks here
