Looking for a pair of AKG240s Monitor, Sextett, or DF would be acceptable. Hopefully within the 50USD range, located in the US

A 100 to 300 dollars budget is better for the 600 ohms versions. A 55 ohm Studio doesn't have to be expensive but will probably cost more than 50 dollars.

If you go up to $80, I have less than 3 mos. old ones that have about 150hrs on them (mostly just from break-in), have a custom 4.5ft gaming cable made (from Canare L-4E6S w/GTMax microphone terminating in Stereo & Mono mini-din). The stock 10ft cable and a Guitar Center 2yr warranty with stock box & all. Oh, BTW: These are the 55ohm Studios.

After about 4 failed auctions, I've finally won a pair of sextetts for sixty dollars shipped.

I guess so.  I'm concerned less with cosmetics than having a pair of working headphones that can be experimented with and refurbished.
