They are like the Mg7's in some respect with their bass.

Sub-bass orientated, with not as huge mid-bass emphasis, unlike the sony xb700 & MDT's

Soundstage is amazing, mids and highs are crisp and perfect to my ears. (D2K)

if only denon made earphones like their headphones...

Denon's earphones are great-  but not AS good as they could be

And really MDT's sound better than MG7's to you in the mids?

Maybe i need more burn-in?

Finally understood why the MDT's seem a little odd...!!

So I've been having a little problem with my MDT's - seems like they don't do trance as well as my MG7's yet r'n'b they do well, but after some EQ'ing.

Then I heard it in a song, and understood:
The decay.

It's ALL ABOUT THE DECAY.

The MDT's have a LOT of trouble keeping up with my music - especially trance that is very fast passed.

It seems like they are TRYING to decay, yet get held back somehow, and then get jumbled up - and thus change the SQ a lil.

No idea if anyone else has realised this.

Just happened to me on a few songs.

And as soon as I heard it it hit me.

I really like the MDT's...but also have a problem wearing them cable down.
Meaning I have to wear them over-the-ear, and more so, have a VERY flashy earphone in my ears - which just attracts attention.

"hey I'm rich, and can afford golden earphones, come get me"

My set might hit the FS forums. I'll see.

I know my 2nd set is for sure being sold on ebay (or head-fi if ebay fails)

I swear, people just jump right in at the end of a thread and think the world hit reset just for them.  If people don't feel inclined to take any wisdom from prior posts it's probably time for the rest of us to hit 'unsubscribe'.  I'm leaving one of the first threads I ever joined on H-fi.  Sigh....

Can anyone confirm if I can use Shure black foam with MMDT? None of the million tips that came with fit me (too small). Thanks.

I'm going via comply tips here.

The size the se535's have are the T100's

the ones the MDT's have are the T400's

If I'm correct, then there is a significant difference, from what I'm going by.

I agree, these aren't "fast" earphones. I don't think they're that bad at it but it's definitely not heavy metal phones. However, I still don't see why you don't like the mids on these. Personally, I think that's the highlight of these phones. The bass was a tad much but really did improve with burn in.

What were ur initial impressions of the MDT's?

I'm asking this, as maybe the MDT's need more time burning-in?
They have at least 30hrs on em. Possibly 50

Personally, I think 30 hours is more then enough time for burn in on these. Initially, I thought the MDTs were a bit bloated and the mids were too warm. Then the bass got much tamer which meant the decay got better and the mids got much clearer(this is with a burn in of roughly 40+ hours...which makes my previous statement a bit stupid since I didn't actually listen to these between the initial and "final" burn-in stage). I actually think these are better for strings then brass which is weird for a "jazz" phone. Btw, what do you think of the CKS77 versus the MDTs?

lets see - seems like the mg7's as dsnuts put it might be the closest - lets see :)

Do you know which one has a smaller core, T100 or T400?

Maybe I can still fit over MMDT if T100 is smaller.

Wait.. If the tributes fall apart or the strain reliefs break, will it be under the "even its your fault" warranty or the defect warranty?

Well no i was just going by Comply sizes.

as the shures were made for the shures = T100 size

Thus MDT's which take T400 size, would have a HUGE bore for the shure tips.

This is my assumption however :)

T100 has the smaller core ;)

The mdt are amazing with tips that isolate well/seal up the canal/small sound bore preferably. Having tried them with my ms2+/o2 combo, I find them incredibly open and dynamic. Mids are their strong point, and highs are sparkly enough. If anything I think the meaty tight bass has excellent speed.

Yeah....I don't really get why that is? These really don't sound that great out of my sansa clip+. It actually sounds much better on the ipod touch.
