Shall I put up with a pair of hot headphones with one driver larger than the other too?

not sure the female breast/headphone driver analogy is entirely valid

The answer is YES.

How much bigger would the breast I mean driver be?

this is why i wont upgrade my sr325 to rs1 or ps1000...im afraid i will be dissapointed not by how they sound but becoz of their build quality..

Grado is just unbelievable in regards of its quality control.... maybe one of the worse, whatever the industry. They are too big to behave like a basement start-up !

So I listened to them last night. Simply put, they are unbelievable. Lopsided breasts and all.

Your sample size must be too small to be statistically valid

I would send that breast, er, RS1i back without hesitation. Grado is notorious for poor quality control and unfortunately it is likely to continue. I'd refuse to accept budget quality workmanship at a premium price.

EDIT: You must have posted as I was writing mine, which is now irrelevant. As long as you're happy with the result, that's the most important thing.

"I'm more than satisfied, and anyways - who looks at their headphones while wearing them , where as you have to look at those breasts ..... well you get the idea."

Yep, I think that's where the analogy fails.

Glad it worked out for you. Sounds like you came out like a fat rat.

Glad it worked out for you!

Some may be content with flawed "new" items, but I'd like to make sure I get what I paid for.

Not only that, imagine the people who paid the same amount as you who ended up with flawless pairs lol... sounds pretty jacked up doesn't it? (especially if you LOVE wood and want it to be prestine)

Great it worked out with you once again... enjoy!

So I started a dialogue with the retailer. He gave me two options. One was to send them back, but like I had previously mentioned, living in Canada and all, I was not at all in favor of doing that. Option two was to discount the phones because of the visible damage. So we went back and forth and essentially settled on a refund amount.

To make a long story short, I basically got a brand new RS1i with the previously mentioned flaw for RS2i money. I'm more than satisfied, and anyways - who looks at their headphones while wearing them ..... where as you have to look at those breasts ..... well you get the idea.
Great. A $200 discount for that blemish is a great settlement! I'd have accepted it myself.

Glad they fixed the problem for you, i would have asked for a pair sent to me and return the damaged pair once they were recieved. You still got away with a good deal there.

I'm sure a lot of people are now wishing they had this happen to them. Glad you're happy.

^I'm waiting for an RS1 and the last thing I wish to see is a blemish that has me having to negotiate compensation. I'd personally rather have the thing intact.
