Loudest no-distortion earphones

Hello,

I would like earphones with extremely high sound level without any kind of distortion and powerful bass.
Which ones should I get and how loud do Sennheiser IE8 gets?

Thank you

How loud a headphone can go also depends on the driving power of your source. The question is, why?

None. High level listening is not good for you.

From my experience....both SE530 and W3.

They will both blow your head off before breaking a sweat.

Either you have extreme hearing loss or you would like it. Besides that I can't think of any idea why this is a good idea.

But to be serious, maybe the Monster Turbines?

EDIT: Actually the Rockford Fosgate Punch Plugs. They actually advertise and advocate how "louder is better".

Don't take this bad, but... you're going to hurt your ears and lose hearing, are you aware of it?

This said, look for a high sensitivity phone and feed it with a good source (e.g. Cowon D2). Such a combination, when used to the limit, is guaranteed to cause you permanent hearing damage. It can take some time, though, so you may want to try sitting near an airplane taking off, which may produce sound levels above the pain threshold and can render you deaf quite fast. Also, it is funny to see those monsters taking off

Now, seriously: it's easy to find loud enough IEMs and insanely powered portable players, but be VERY careful with them and with the sound pressure levels or you will be deaf (or suffering with tinnitus) quite soon.

I suggest you to get a pair of earpohones with good isolation and seal. Currently, all my balanced armature IEMs provides me good isolation which can help you to enjoy your music without or less disturbances from outside noises. All my IEMs, give me the SPL more than I wanted.

Phonak Audeo PFE 112; filterless + custome sleeves
Westone UM3Xs with modded triple flanges
Unique Melody Mages, custom IEMs.

I also have full size cans, the Sony MDR CD3000 with can power up to 3000mW (3W). The phones sensitivity is at 103db/mW, at full blast of 2W tube headphone amp, already can provide 137dB of SPL, the sound level which you will not forget for your whole life!!!. Really, it was hurting and not fun at all.

TQ

OK, I get it- no more looking for extremely loud headphones.

I currently have AKG K181DJ that have 3500mW and 120dB sensitivity (I beat you :P ) powered by iBasso D2+ and they are loud, but at highest sound levels there is some bass distortion present.

I will probably get Sennheiser IE8, Alo Rx and some yet-to-come player (perhaps Cowon J3 if that is gonna happen)

Are you sure is a headphone problem? The distortion may come from the iBasso or even your source (or even the file you're playing!). Make sure you've identified the culprit before putting money on new headphones.

Sometimes, distortion on basses are due to the source not being able to deliver enough current to the headphones, so the voltage drops and the sound is "clipped", so to say.

perhaps that is the thing. I think that Sennheiser IE8 and Alo Rx will do the trick, anyway- the distortion is only at way too loud sound levels so no worries

Sennheiser IE8 with Sflo2, Sony X1060(WM port) will do the trick too if use with ALO RX or without and ALO now offering Sony WM dock cable.

Yeah, just saw that cable. So, it's probably gonna be Sennheiser IE8, Sony NWZ-x1050/60, Alo Rx and Alo Sony Dock Cable.
