Battery Life for 5th Gen Nano playing Apple Lossless

Just a quick question, since the 16gb Nano is flash based and doesn't have a HDD to spin up, how long do you think the battery would last if I was to load it up with Apple Lossless files; rather than my normal Lame encoded 320 kbps MP3's?

Is my listening time likely to suffer say a 50 to 60% reduction between charges? I tried listing to samples of Lame encoded and lossless songs on my Nano and the lossless files just sound nicer, the bass sounds fuller, deeper and the experience was altogether more pleasing to MY ears - Hence the question.

But by the same token whilst I can live with the lame encoded tracks I don't want to take a big hit on the battery/listening times between charges, I was wondering if anyone else had prior experience with the nano and lossless?

the problem with lossless isnt the hard drive spin up,
its more related to the efficiency of the decoder,
as ALAC is a proprietary format from apple, its toll on the DSP installed in the player is known only to apple so i only offer expiriance from other formats
1) higher bitrate = higher CPU use = more power used
2) its all about decoding efficiency, Flac and APE have comparable quality and bitrates, but due to differances in the encoding/decoding process aswell as how the codec is writtern, APE is MUCH more cpu intensive and will drain batteries much faster then Flac, the interface in my D2 works correctly and normaly when playing flac but laggs considerably while using APE, so take that in to consideration,

now, i know apple has a large market and therfore has some pull with hardware designers being a major client and all, so i would suspect that they would have whoever makes their DSP´s put in some hardware optimization, BUT dont expect the same battery life as with AAC or MP3, point 1 still applies,
