Looking for desktop speakers

Thread Starter
Hello,
I am new to headfi and that's my first post.
I would appreciate some advice or suggestions for any good desktop speakers.

Thereby, I was thinking of getting some mini-bookshelf speakers like the Audioengine 2. They seem to be pretty good, with a pretty strong bass (and also a very stylish design)

Does anyone have any suggestions on alternative speakers in the same price segment and also same size (I do not want much bigger ones)
I would also appreciate some opinions about the A2s.

Thanks,
maxeyy

I would go for A2.
In terms of sound quality and size the A2s are perfect for desktop.
Also M audio AV40, BX5M, and KRK RP5 are the popular ones.
However, they are bigger in size.

i love my audioengine a2.

if you want a bit more bass, get a 10 inch sub to go with it, but its not necessary

Of the speakers I have heard in the prcie range, nothing comes close to the A2. Very balenced sound, Plus I like how they look.

If you are in the market for standalone/self powered computer speakers, the M-Audio AV40's are pretty decent price and performance for the $$$.

Whoops, my mistake. Didn't read the OP carefully enough to realize he wanted actives.
