So the question is why did Sony develop a different cable?  That's no small endevour.  They could have saved a fortune by using the same cable on all three phones.  Nobody would have been any wiser if the choice was never even present and they could just rake in the extra bucks  

 

Music, when you are done with that EX1000 cable you know where to find me.  ;P
