No problem eric, I just noticed your more recent favorites have been dynamics. 

I actually like the TF10 for the most part, but I also give my big ole canals credit for some of it. The large single flange and even some of the housing are in my canal. So the bass thumps and the highs soar, not exactly neutral, but I find them entertaining enough.  I support anyone deciding to "stop"  as soozie said, it is refreshing not thinking about a future purchase, and just enjoying the music. You've got a pretty good collection. So until that ety releases......enjoy!

PS.. you are getting an lod or already have one for your e7?  If not please get one!

I was good with my C700's for an entire nine months, and then the disease, I mean, um, hobby -  got hold of me good and proper and I was buying and trying everything!  I think the amount of money I lost after selling them all would have bought me 4 x SM3 - one pair for each ear. Now that's scary... not the fact that I have four ears, but that next week the SM4 will probably come out and make the SM3 sound like iBuds in comparison, and so the cycle continues...

 

 

Oh, that British humor @ soozieq. Funny! LOL.. When you said "the  disease,....." I thought about the British zombie films that have been out recently ("29 Days" is it?). It was the "disease" that turned all those poor Brits into zombies unsuspectedly. Yes, we must handle our pursuit of audio nirvana like a loaded gun or virus filled syringe. But ooooooh! it feel and sound soooo good seeping into the cerebral cortex. lol

I don't know where to shop for an lod buddy. I was looking at the ones for Ipod and the Sony on the Fiio website, but I could find a price. I can't spend over $50 for one. I hear they can get quite expensive, so I'll keep search..ing (pun intended).... lol
 

Hey eric. I chose the 50 dollar sets.I doubt the 30 dollar sets sound any different. I liked the looks better of the 50 dollar one......but seriously doubt a sound difference.......anyway, the link...Cheers

Edit: In my mind, spending more than 50 is a waste....let the ones that feel differently spend more.

I like the lod quite a bit.

Here is the thread regarding the LOD made by Fiio. It seems that they are also planning to make a special lod for the E7.

Okay, I ended buying the new Fiio lod cables (one for ipod and one for Sony) from a dealer in Ireland. It cost $20 for each one (free shipping). A few reviews here state that these were just as good as the more expensive ones, giving them giant killers status like the uDAC. We'll see. Thanks again search and koohua....

I am toying with an upgrade on my 4 year old UM2. Want and not need as ever It'll be a while yet as Complys are so comfy they breathe new life into my UM2 The UM3X naturally interests me but at the same price point is the SM3 which I have to say appears to be a real contender for my money. The only one in the list I have heard is the IE8 but I would not buy it because the bass is too overpowering over everything as deliciously wide the sound stage is. And I am not convinced by its isolation qualities

oh ive been arround, just much reduced posting since the change over.  will i, how much stuff you have?  im currently having a moratorium on my buying, i have far too much i never use and dont sell anything.

mark looks like you own victor fx500 and denon c710 and hje900. can you compare the 3 in terms of overall sq? since i just bought the jvc

the FX500 is the best of them.

not that the 500 is perfect but the 710 is over sensitive and as a result rather flabby and uncontrolled.  the 900 is just so brutal and aggressive, overwhelming bass, savage highs, no mids.  an extremely dynamic powerful sound which so far has never failed to give me headache every time i listen to it.  the 710 has big bass, and biggish treble.  mids are so so, not cool and dry like the 751 or liquid and smooth either,  like a muddy grey brown; nothing very distinct and they suffer for it.  the 500 i was surprised i liked it, very abundant treble but really very well controlled so it doesnt ravage the ears, none of the hard edged ferocity of the 900.  still very abundant though.  the mids were there, a little recessed but nothing terrible, rather cool and dry which helps them remain clear but mids arent what you bought these for.  (well ovor the other two you may well have.)  the bass on these surprised me, i expected a ton of it but no, thankfully.  whats there is really really good, the best of the 3.  it has great depth and power in the lowest end but much less midbass creating a sub woofer like effect, rumble without dominating further up.

oh all have crappy cables, the 900 is the best but they are all designed to be used by the lollipop people.  denon gives you an extension cable which then makes them long enough to plug them in at home and still be used while crossing the country.
