HD228's... Did I get a fake?

I've recently purchased a HD228 from a local craigslister.
Came in original packaging and etc, etc.

I'm just curious as to the sound.
They just sound really hollow for me.

Maybe I've been used to IEM's for too long?
Or do I need time for burn-in?

Because I've NEVER heard of fake HD228's.
And the quality feels a bit too good to be a fake, although it does feel overly-light than I would've expected.

Anyone have any info?
I don't see any fakes on eBay, which is a good sign and maybe I just need to readjust my ears.

Probably the best way to find out that I can think of at the moment is to compare yours to other pictures of it right here in the FS section. Try to find any slight differences with the other pictures and you may come up with an answer. Hope this can help.

Ah, it seems that I was mistaken; I just seem to prefer the forward sound.
I just read up some info about the sound and seems to describe it.

Fakes always show up on eBay first, so I had a hunch they weren't fake.
