What SS amp grabs hold and drives ...

What SS amp grabs hold and drives the living hell out of fast bass lines ? I don't need any audiophile BS tap, tap on the kick drum. I need an amp that has control, authority, and speed.

Used or new range of around $600.

Here is my list so far :

Goldpoint Pro
HR-2

Never heard the HR-2 but the Goldpoint seems to be what your looking for. I really like this amp !

The only amp I've ever used that I would say could truly provide you with the sort of power you're looking for is the HeadAmp GS-1.  You should save up your money and shoot for it.

beta22..might only be able to get a 2 board at that price range though

I was going to say either a beta22 or Gilmore Dynahi, until I saw the price range. Maybe a used amb M^3 (not to be confused with the portable mini3).

I'm really digging this loaner Luxman P-1u amp, which keeps my HD800 sounding punchy, tight and fast.
