Guys, so what is an *easy* way of converting FLAC 24/96 to 16/44 Flac?
Adobe audition 3 does not support flac, maybe I should simply let Nero do it and burn to CD and then back to Flac?

I download the album in 24/96 FLAC and got problems with track 1 & track 2. I think during the download something went wrong. I've sent hdtrack an email still waiting on the reply.

From track 3 to 12 they all work fine.

Although this is suppose to be for headphones but they sound great on speakers too...

Downloaded on Saturday and listened during the week end. As expected the recording quality is excellent, but I've got some doubt about the artistic quality (some tracks are simply too distant from what I usually listen to).
But it is a nice idea, well done :-)

Great record! Thanks to all involved!
Funny how listening to this record gets your ears "in the mood" for critical listening.
I listened to this, then followed it up with Richard Thompson's Action Packed: The Best of the Capital Years, and my ears are hearing subtle touches i've never picked up on before...

So I was a little bit skeptical at first... and the download manager stalled on me first use... but man.. once I got my soundcard set at 24/96 a huge grin appeared on my face. this HD stuff is great...

I really wish my favs were recorded like this

Is anyone else using a Xonar STX? I can't get track number 7 to work with foobar2000... says

"Unrecoverable playback error: Unsupported stream format: 88200 Hz / 24-bit / 2 channels"

Any thoughts?

EDIT: using kernel streaming output fixed it... but neither WASAPI or ASIO will work :/

You should also check out "The Ultimate Demonstration Disc Vol:2" That makes for a nice collection.

There's also "The World's Greatest Audiophile Vocal Recordings", a wonderful collection of stunningly reproduced vocals. Another great piece of value.

Both are also available at high definition.
