FLAC to CD Conversion

listening to it now on my 306 SACD. here's what i did.

- downloaded FLAC files (non-HD version)
- used Switch Sound File Converter (free program) to convert to WAV [PCM, 44.1 kHz/16 bit stereo]
- burned WAV files to CDR (i used WMP, but any media player can do this)

sound quality is excellent. good choice of tracks too. absolutely worth $6.

track 9 (spatial depth) is one of the coolest tracks i have ever heard.

here is the description:

Quote:
you will hear richard crooks playing his drums in a very large and reverberant recording studio at 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 30 and 70 feet away from the microphone. as the distance increases, you will hear more and more room sound, that is, the sound of the drums filling the studio.
it sounds just like that - killer track.

No, it is simply a demonstration disc to test your audio system for certain characteristics mentioned in this thread. The only thing is that it makes everything convenient as it is designed for headphone listeners.

I am going to purchase the HD version soon.

I tried checking out with paypal but it seems that its just for US residents. Quite a pity actually, the Chesky Ultimate Test Disk is pretty awesome.

I live in Europe and paying with paypal worked without problem.

That's because you had 666 posts. They're scared of beasts haha.
I've no clue why mine isn't downloading. It just takes me back to the previous check out page with no confirmation of a payment.

Me too, but I've downloaded pink noise tracks and burnt them to a CD. I don't need the fancy artwork for a test CD.

Are you sure you don't have something blocking cookies or interfering with their web page (ad blocker or script blocker etc...)?

Thank you. Purchased and downloaded the HD version, now I am not sure if it was a good choice, as my system is not 24/96 :/

Hi Jude,
Just a quick question, I can't seem to convert the 96/24 FLAC to 44/16 FLAC through Max. How do you do it?

Cheers.
