It seems as though the audiophile hobby is a perfect match for Classical music. Every top headphone I have read about, people always brag about how good they do with classical

There's nothing like a real live performance, and any decent classical concert will be unamped. Sometimes the live concert will be the revelation that will turn you onto music you thought you didn't like.

Some of the more memorable concerts I've attended include Shostakovich's 4th by Semyon Bychkov (Orchestre de Paris), Sibelius' 1st by Bernard Haitink (Concertgebouw), Shostakovich's 5th by Yuri Temirkanov (St Petersburg Philharmonic, the only time I actually went backstage to thank the conductor), Dvořak's Cello Concerto and Shostakovich's 13th by Mstislav Rostropovich.

Mostly Opera, though I haven't been to the Met lately. will prolly start going again when the ABT's season starts in the spring.

I'm blessed to actually have a beautiful University Venue in my charge here in Idaho. The Boise Philharmonic plays here every month.

No, they're not the Chicago Symphony, but they're dang good, and aren't afraid to program challenging repertoire. Maestro Robert Franz really works the orchestra well, and is an absolute delight to watch on the podium.

If you ever happen to be in the Boise area the third Friday of the month (most of the time), they're a "must-see." p.m. me if you're around, I may be able to get you some tickets.
