Carbon Fiber Wrapped

So I finally got to wrapping my portable rig in carbon fiber and securing my RSA Shadow to my Nano as one big package. It's not perfect and I would do it differently the next time. But here it is. I didn't even need to cut out an opening for the scroll wheel. It still works without having to be exposed.

Slick, man. Just don't get slivers, and avoid inhaling any dust at all costs.

It's kinda cool. I was never a big carbon fiber fan, but the idea of wrapping my rin into one unit was too tempting. Plus, it wasn't that expensive. That being said, I did goof up and can't access the headphone jack on the RSA. Plug is too big. I have to undo everything and flip the amp around. That shouldn't be too hard.

wow that looks nice...and there's no effect at all to the scroll wheel? very interesting.

Nope no effect on the scroll wheel. I was sure that I would have to cut out a hole for the scroll wheel. I might still end up doing that. Haven't decided yet.

I like it covering. IMO I would say cut in the lines around the wheel so you get the outline but still have the carbon fiber covering it. Meh that's just me though.

Great work, looks awesome!

How easy is it to get some carbon fiber?

$12 for 12"x12" square from Carbonfibergear.com. I got mine in about 3 days of placing the order with free shipping.

I might try to cut out the scroll wheel although it is unnecessary.

What is so special about carbon fiber? A carbon fiber toilet seat cover in the front page, why?

Wilson Benesch makes carbon fiber tonearms for its rigidity.
