using tenso.com and ordering directly from a Japanese on-line shop they can be had for less than \25,000 shipped.

Too bad Canadians will get slaughtered by duty and tax once it crosses the border, unless it goes undetected. ahhhh

I have purchased from one of those Japanese duty free shops online before and it took more then 2 weeks to deliver. They do not offer insurance plus you may end up paying import taxes on top.
Also what if the mrchandice is defective and it needs to be serviced some day? For just few dollars more you get your new toy from a local dealer withing 2 days. Too much hassle those duty free shops....

yea true, the duty and tax is a killer. think getting the ortofon e-q7 would only be possible if i visit japan D:

lol few dollars, that's a bit of a stretch. Considering the Orotons are probably close to or $400 CAD with tax/shipping included. lol buy it used!

With that kind of money I would definitely get the CK100 instead. Much smoother trebles although not as fast and has less bass compared with e-Q7. Can't understand why some say CK100 treble is fatiguing - if it is fatiguing then I would be very very fatigued by the over-bright and coarse mids of the eQ7 by now...

I appreciate this appreciation thread. The e-Q7 is one of three earphones on my radar at the moment, with the others being the CK10 and the Monster Copper Turbine Pro's but boy are they fugly.

Hi there,
the same question to you, where did you find e-q7 for 400 CAD, let me guess in Canada? Why bother if one can get this from UK dealer or even better, USA for much less.

By the way, I would like to keep respect to the IEMs itself as well as "Pianist"
who has started this "appreciation e-Q7 thread". After all, this place is to comment on the e-Q7 and not debate which place gives you a better deal. Am I right or not?

Anyhow yes, e-Q7 have its pros and cons but which earphones/headphones does not? Trust your ears and love the music.

The micorphonics on these wires can be a little annoying.Will using a clip damage the wires?The clip I have is from the Sennheiser CX series

Based on limited info, the GR-8 is the the closest IEM to the e-Q7.

lol considering I am Canadian, I can only look at Canadian dealers atm. Buying from a UK dealer is ridiculous. While US dealers could be ok, buying from a Canadian source is usually the best for Canadians.

While I respect that his is a an appreciation thread. Most of our comments reflect on how we could get our hands on the Orotofon so we can appreciate it lol. I hear nothing but good things on the Orotofon and would love to get a pair for myself, hence why I am trying to see if anyone knows any good prices out there.
