hi search, i see you have the senn tips on your ortos, how do feel these afect the ortos sound/ spacing/clarity, etc

So far, they are the best of all worlds for my ears, No negatives at all.
Eric has had even better results for himself with some foam tips he got hold of. Until I find a better tip, The senn double flange win. The sound....stage and transparency all stay intact. I am always going to try different tips, but the senn tips are the best for me so far.

Thanks search ,ill give them a try on my ortos later, currently im using the sen double flange on my coppers, i find they fill out the bass giving the bass on the coppers a bit more body without eny colouring in the other frequencys and i think they improve the spacing /imaging /soundstage a little on the coppers,so it will be intresting trying them on the ortos.

Hi everyone, I am planning to upgrade my very first IEM (ETY-HF5) with the EQ7 and I was wondering if some of you have them both and could give me some pointers into the main differences (and basically if I am actually taking the right decision to move from one to the other)...

My main concern is fit, as I travel on planes a lot and HF5 give a very good insulation.

Hello @ stalflare... I have both and I like the HF5 quite a bit, but to be honest, I haven't listened to the HF5 no more than maybe twice since owning the Ortos in early December. To get right to it, they are two completely sound sigs. HF5s are more studio monitor-like. The Ortos will be a wider soundstage and more live-like (even if you're listening to studio recorded music). The HF5s are very analytical in micro details of vocals and some instrumentation. You won't get that from the Ortos. You will get, however, quite detailed instrumentation, greater transparency and clarity with the Ortos. Instruments will have more depth with the Ortos...

Now, as far as isolation, HF5 by virtue of how small the are and how you have to wear them probably gives more isolation than the Ortos. The Ortos are quite bigger than the HF5s. But if you have a medium to large ear canals and use foams like the Comply brand, you will probably get good isolation from the e-Q7. Some people don't like the Comply. I only like them with the Orto. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

More like thinking to get a custom sleeve for it...thought reshell is going to change the sound sig a lil bit here and there no?

@helljudgement, I remember reading somewhere saying the housing of e-Q7 is designed to match their 'moving armature', so it might be difficult to reshell them. I think it is the same concept as reshelling dynamic IEMs.

So I was expecting the package today I thought I missed it when my mailman came with just regular mail but luckily I decided to wait and an hour later someone else came to deliver my package From Japan on Monday to my house on Wednesday is pretty insane shipping.

My first impressions are that the box that it comes with is pretty over the top :P It's like a case for jewelry or something from the outside. lol theres your high quality japanese product :P I got the silver one and its very nice and shiny It also looks like I was worried for nothing. They aren't as big as I thought they would be so fits fine for me.

I'm still experimenting with tips but I only have the stock along with some sony hybrids so hopefully one of those does the trick for me.

I was going to get black but it was a bit more expensive and I'm not really one to care much about colors so no point in getting black :P Red however is too racy for me :P I decided to pick the shiniest one so that obviously is the best one.
