ericp10, I see that you're into jazz. Do you enjoy listening to it through the e-Q7?

It means I'm cheap and got them from Japan compared to ALO. I kinda regret it now since I'm too impatient but it will be worth it when I get them.

Pic of the orto's on my profile, not a good one, but you can see how large the housing is, the tips on them are the senn large double flange, the housing is rather large, only put the pic up for anyone wondering if the fit will be an issue. Not meant to be a good pic....I don't have any camera skills

Hello Iponderous. I absolutely love listening to jazz through my Ortos. With the right tips, I have yet to hear anything that offers as much clarity, detail, instrument separation and transparency as the Ortos. Right now, I'm stuck on these orange Xears foam tips. The Ortos focus on quality of bass more than quanity, but with the right tips there is plenty of it. The highs are a bit recessed, but ironically these foam tips are bringing the highs out for me quite a bit more. The mids are perfect, and these tips really focuses in on the vocals and bring out more nuances.
A little bit behind, but not too far, I enjoy the Coppers for jazz, but sound sigs between the two are totally different. If I recall correctly, iponderous, you like the TF10s quite a bit? I didn't care for the TF10s because of mids and vocals, but I do have to say that the TF10s sounded great with jazz instrumentals from the bass and highs standpoint. But the Ortos give me a more liver presentation of jazz music, even if it's a studio recording... Thanks for the question. Regards. |
