Panel #1

Panel #2

Will fit on the Galaxy series of cases...10mm panel from Hifi 2000. Will contain a chipamp, made to fit the Alps RK27 pot, the 29mm knob from Hifi-2000, standard M4 socket cap screws, and a 5mm LED (will only show a fraction of that on the front panel).

BAH, just realized I had the top & side views reversed!

I'm partial to the volume knob not in the center

I agree with Saget.

What about the LED positioning? Should it be closer to the bottom? I have it centered vertically currently.
I prefer the knob not centered as well.
I would probably vertically align the LED in the center.

OK, what colour LED? Will be probably a brushed silver/anodized silver panel....I was thinking a muted/diffused blue but green or white might look OK too.

Rectangular green... and not bright enough that you can see if from a mile away.

With as thick as your panel looks it might be better to go with a light pipe.
Here is an example---->
LMC- 2.5mm Micro | LED Light Pipes | VCC
( or page 168 in the Mouser catalog)

Blind tapped holes in the front so you won't see the screws?

AH, thanks for the link! I've always wondered how people do that....and also, what do you mean by not seeing the screws?

Offset knob is wayyy better.

Oh...I feel such a doofus after seeing that link LOL. Naw, going for more of an 'industrial' look with the exposed screws. I actually wanted bigger diameter ones, but M4 sockets only come on one size.

Do you have a real example of this? It looks interesting but I couldn't imagine how it looks on a front panel.
