I have had this for years and just dug it out. My computer doesn't recognize it when I plug it in, and I tried to charge it using a universal charger. This thing has not been abused, and looks perfect, but doesn't power up. I haven't used it in several years. Can anyone hazard a guess as to what the problem might be and whether this is something I could take apart and fix easily, perhaps with a new battery, and/or hd, or is this something that isn't worth the time, trouble and money. The software interface on this was terrible when I used it, but I'm thinking if I could get it working I could put Rockbox on it. As I recall the sound quality was excellent for a portable and always sounded better than my IPODS. Any suggestions, or should I just bag it, and stick with my 60 GIG Ipod Video.
