Supermacro 3 On Ebay

Just for fun, thought I'd post about the Supermacro 3 currently for sale on ebay, what does everyone think the final price will be?

I had one and it was a fine amp in it's day but surpassed by many today I would say. I wouldn't by one now at any price with the disapearence of the good doctor.

agree with nc8000: but since bidding is now already over $500 he'll get lots more money on ebay for it than he probably would on these forums

What happened to him?

He just kind of vanished from the face of the earth. I'm not sure anybody ever found out what actually happened. I stopped following it after waiting a year for a new amp.

D4

I think the ibasso d4 sounded better, why I sold my supermacro....thought it was much too warm. Not a bad warn but I prefer an analytic amp. I also always worried what of something happened where is xin to fix it.

I have a Supermacro 3 and a 4. They are good amps, but as has been said, he is not the only game in town anymore. I have a RSA Predator, which I think sounds better. I'm holding onto the Xin amps for nostalgia sake. I think what happend to Xin, is the same thing that happened to the other guy at Singlepower, too much work, unable to finish jobs, so just ran from it. I think Xin is still around, just not selling amps, answering emails, filling orders etc.

Last month I sold my Xin SM-IV amp on Head-Fi, and feel the SM-IV is one heck of an amp. To me it was a concern that Xin was not available to service the amp if needed. However, the purchaser seems pretty familiar with electronics, is already rolling opamps, and seems highly satisfied with the amp.

As an aside: for me, I would not sell the amp on eBay. I feel good that the person who got the amp values it, we both got a good deal, and we probably will correspond into the future. I may be in the minority view re: not trolling for max $ on eBay, but I'm ok with that, too.
