Hey guys,
I've had my fun with fixing the SinglePower MPX3 but after getting rid of all of my Sennheisers, I simply don't use it anymore. I've also collected a little cache of tubes to go along.
I went through the circuit from start to finish and made it safe while upgrading almost everything along the way.
Original upgrades
Stepped attenuator
Jensen PIO interstage capacitors
"Level 3" PSU - huge 220uF Solen film capacitor in PSU
Pre-amp outputs
Silver wiring
My mods
Transformer
Hammond 372FX, the 300-series are MUCH better than stock 200-series.
Filament supply
4x FES16DT diodes
2x 4700uF/16V Nichicon HE
High voltage PSU
2x DSEP12 diodes
Replaced nasty 4x 10uF caps with single 47uF/450V Panasonic TS-HA
Added bleeder resistors across large caps
Cathode Bypass caps
BlackGate STD
Output caps
200uF/500V JJ
Misc
RCA's replaced with good quality Teflon insulated ones.
Transformer secondaries isolated.
More efficient wiring.
The tubes that will be included and mind you, I'm not really a "tube guy" so I don't know much about them, but from what I've "googled", most are very good. You're basically getting 3 pairs output tubes (middle and rear sockets) and a bunch of 6SN7 driver tubes (front socket) so you can roll tubes to your heart's content.
6SN7
2x Matched 6SN7GTA (identical construction), different brand - GE & Silvertone - Side-D getter
2x Almost identical constructed 6SN7GT by RCA, bottom-D getter, one slightly taller than other.
1x Tung-Sol 6SN7GTB - Halo getter
1x RCA 6SN7GTA - Dual side-D getters
1x CBS 6SN7GTB - Side-D getter
1x Sylvania 6SN7GTA - Halo getter
Others
2x Tung-Sol 6BX7GT
1x GE 6BL7GTA
1x Westinghouse 6BX7GT
1x Raytheon 6BL7GTA

Tubes:

After I purchased this already upgraded amp (~ $1800 retail), I've invested over $400 in parts, plus a couple hundred dollars in tubes. Finally, a "good" SinglePower amp. You owe it to your headphones to treat them to some serious SET OTL goodness!
Shipping is included in the price, and it's $50 off if you pick it up in San Francisco, it's heavy!
Thanks
