SRWare Iron: browser based on Chrome without the spying

This one is for the people paranoid about privacy. Just found out about this browser made by a German company. As the title said, its based on the Chromium source code, but without dialing back to Google server. Check the software link provided for more information and comparison between Iron and Chrome, also check their forum for the beta verions: SRWare Iron

Its still in early development, but definitely worth checking if it becomes more popular and improves. Like Opera it has built in adblocking, save this block list into Iron's install folder: Fanboy's Adblock List for Iron Chrome (Alpha)

Since the browser is open source, it will miss out some propriety features that came with Chrome, such as h.264 video streaming.

Also, for those who are interested, here are two search engines that do not record IP addresses at all:
https://ixquick.com
https://ssl.scroogle.org
(Use https in the address for SSL connection.)

The former do not record IP at all and the later searches from Google through a proxy and deletes IP after 24-48hours.

Also there is a Firefox addon called GoogleSharing that let you proxy Google connections from within Firefox.

I use Chrome as my default browser, and there is an option for incognito browsing. It's an option under the settings tab.

Incognito mode (private browsing) : Explore Google Chrome features - Google Chrome Help

As far as I can tell, it doesn't track history and deletes all cookies at the end of your browsing session.

It probably still sends anonymous information to Google though.

I don't mind Google spying on me. Google can do no evil.

Until it does! I love Chrome.

Good old Opera doesn't do this either.

And for the really paranoid nutjobs, based on Gecko/Mozilla: https://xerobank.com/download/xb-browser/

Downloaded and running right now. Remains to be seen how it performs though, but the first impressions are nice.
Too bad the Mac OS X version is not up-to-date with the MS Windows version though.

I love srware iron. I don't know why Google insisted on the spying aspect of Chrome. It's pretty creepy.

I used Iron quite a bit and it seems the best of the lightweights. I'd use in in preference to Chrome though Iron isn't automatically detected by Ccleaner, which is a pain.

Comodo have a similar browser which looks promising: Comodo Dragon Internet Browser

But I'll stick to Opera.

Now that looks good. I'm using Comodo Firewall too and am very happy with it. Will check out their browser.
