Grado RA1 battery terminals

Thread Starter
The 9V battery terminals in my RA1 are terribly tight. When it comes time to replace the batteries, I can never easily remove them. i usually have to slide something under and pry up the whole thing with incredible force. they are so tight that they ripped off one of the contacts on one of the 9V batteries! (i'm thinking this was in part the fault of this battery, but these terminals seem overly tight to me as well).

any suggestions out there as to how to loosen the terminals so they are easier to plug/unplug? perhaps even remove them and replace them with some different type of 9V terminals?

thanks

Late reply...

I had the same issue with my RA1 female terminals; they ate one battery contact each. So, I simply took fine pliers and pushed the RA1 terminals outward, slightly and just enough to grip and securely hold the battery.

Fixed.
