hello there,

well I guess everything is in title

any suggestions ? (was planning to go m^3)

Any other preferences or requirements? Best is a difficult place to start without some sort of guidance.

M^3 is an excellent amp... but hard to say if it's the "best" for you.

well I am building a gamma 2 dac (gamma 1 is full++) as my new source

I don't need/want to go balanced, nor have any special requirements

PRaT,(fat bass and clear mids/lower highs) are what I'm looking for

music is mainly blues/rock and reggae/dub

tubes? hybrid? solid state? budget? size? complexity?

My initial thought given what you've said so far is that maybe tubes or hybrid might fit what you're looking for. EHHA, SOHA, and Bijou are some places to start for "best." If you're thinking solid state, beta 22 would likely be the consensus for "best."

the M3 doesn't have a lot of PRaT. as a former Naim owner i can say a Bijou/DT990-600ohm has a nice lift in the mid-bass and oodles of tuneful PRaT. also, as a former K701 owner, the M3 pairing will not get you there. i'll take a K271/B22 over a K701/M3 any day.

β22 maybe?

The "best" amp that I've auditioned for the K701 was a beta22

thanks for answers,

I think I'll go for a beta22
