FACTORY SEALED NEW NES NINTENDO STADIUM EVENTS NTSC - eBay (item 140384097750 end time Feb-26-10 20:10:41 PST)

My brain can't comprehend this. I've been watching it since it was listed. Until this morning it had been sitting around the $22,000 range for about five days straight. In the last 12 hours or so collectors have gone nuts in a bidding war and have now driven it to over $41,000.

Thoughts?

A sealed version of one of the rarest games - I can see where collectors would jump at this opportunity

This is an interesting time for selling collectibles, given the superman and batman comics that have been sold for $1M recently

I feel BANDAI can make a copy and sell it again.

A heck of a lot of money for a console game. But then again it seems like one in a kind, really something for the collectors.

Haha!

He means downloading the ROM for it.

You could make the chips, circuit board, molded plastic cartridge, print the sticker, re-create the art, print the box, and shrink wrap it for less than $41,000.

wonder would happen if another of the same thing is discovered.

Anyone can reseal with with the sheeting and a heater. Looking at the bids the same guy bid from $22,700.00 to $39,800.00 without anyone else bidding... something smells fishy!

"This was bought over 20 years ago so my memories are fuzzy (we have over 175 games - which, btw will be going up for auction in the coming months - all with boxes! - some unopened)." - I'm gonna start buying some classic games now and keep them in the shrink wrap!
