You stated “but if it sounds better,” I hope I didn’t imply that, I’ve yet to listen to it, but I’m confidant they sound very similar and the advantages the i9 have are the new sound enhancement features (jeteffect 3.0), gapless and larger screen. Its major disadvantage is ½ the battery life of the i7 at best. But guess I’ll know for sure soon …

the controls are really irritating on the iAudio7,its a nice player but sucks with its controls.

The i9 is a very nice little DAP for the price. Just a hint, before you start playing with it, set the touchpad sensitivity to lowest. Makes the learning curve a bit less steep IME.

@James - Indeed. Learning curve for the i7-9 series has always been tricky; lowering the sensitivity helps a lot (at least for me).

Being used to Samsung and Sony, it's a little awkward using the i9, but definitely worth it.
