My lovely Meridian 586.2 DVD player has to go. I mostly used it as a CD player, but I'm PC based for music now. It has the DACs and Analog stage of the 506 (from memory, I think its specifically the 506.20), but due to the better buffering in the 586 it sounds better than any 506. It’s not as good as a 508 though. The DVD side (I just ran 6 discs through it back-to-back to check all was well) is spectacular. Definitely seems to match its reputation as probably the best analog output DVD player.
It’s very clean, as is the remote (the normal one not the MSR), and had very little use over the last 5 years. One just sold on ebay for 530 without the Meridian remote. Taking sensible offers. Not in a huge hurry to sell, but will move quickly once we agree on a sale.
