6 Moon Audio reviews: Good/not good? - Page 2

What are some good/better sites for audio gear reviews? It would be nice if people listed places they go to for feedback and opinions on gear.

I will say 6moons reviewers are very professional and follow some very strict rules while in possession of products they don't own. It may be hard to believe but I don't believe that add space has anything to do with how the review turns out. I wouldn't be surprised if companies take out add space around the time of a favorable review to try and get the most out of the review and make more sales though.

There are quite a few reviewers though, and as someone stated before some are probably more accurate or consistent than others.
Considering at least, the variety of headphones and headphone amps available, they make pretty odd choices about to review in some cases. I'd be asking who makes the choices about what to review. Maybe it doesn't affect the final review, but I'm willing to bet the advertising strongly affects what reviews get written and published.

If you do some digging, all of the info about how they review, and who initiates it is on the website. When I came across it months ago it was like 60-80% (don't remember the exact figure) of the reviews were initiated by companies wanting to get their products reviewed. And the remainder being reviewers (most likely Srajan) requesting pieces to review, or perhaps reviewing equipment he borrows/purchases from someone other than the manufacturer/distributor.

Need a better layout. I have to google 6moons K701 to find the K701 review for example.

yes, their layout is painful...first time, I didn't even see the "NEXT" button at the bottom of this page: 6moons audio reviews: Burson Audio HA-160

70/30 seems to be their current ratio it seems. That explains much.

Has 6 Moons ever given a negative review?

I agree with some reviews at 6 Moons. However, I've never been able to take the site seriously. There's way too much praise for snakeoil. They never start with the premise that something could be bullcrap, they always take the manufacturer at their word.
