Rockbox'ed DAP vs. other Rockbox'ed DAPs vs. others?

So how does a Rockbox'ed DAP (doesn't matter what one) compare against other more expensive and or renowned sounding DAPs such as the ZuneHD and S:Flo2?

Any there any actual differences between Rockbox'ed DAPs sound quality wise as well?
Anyone have any comparisons?

I find my Cowon D2+ DAB once Rockbox'ed takes on a whole new life. The SQ has a much more natural and neutral presentation compared with the stock firmware.

There's a post in the e-Q7 thread claiming that the rockboxed Fuze sounds different to stock firmware. I found this true, but the difference was very subtle, the original Fuze being a tad warmer than the rockboxed one.

I find that the RockBoxed iPod 5.5G sounds amazing (and the iPod mini I own as well). I compare the SQ to my Sony S639 and I find them pretty much equal. I mean, I get the sound MORE to my liking w/RB. The bass is there, with no distortion, the way I wanted the stock FW to be.

Really, I love RockBox, and it enhances ANY dap,.........but shines the most (for me,..........) w/an iPod!!!!!!!!

I find that the rockboxed clip sounds dull. The OF sounds more alive. The same goes for the C250 and e280. It is possible that Sansa is "cheating" by equing the audio. However, I still use rockbox because of folder browsing, compressor, crossfeed and EQ.
