D2+ vs. H10

Hi, I'm currently using a Cowon D2+ and I was looking at some refurbished iRiver H10 models.

In terms of sound quality, which one is superior. Right now, I love my D2+'s output; clear with good sound separation. A distant step from my old 6G ipod classic. A much warmer sound signature too.

Having no experience with any iRiver player, I'd like to know if these old school players stack up to my Cowon.

Also, the H10 can be Rockboxed, correct? So compatibility with flac, ogg and so on.

Iriver h1xx/h3xx can be rockboxed I think (hope!), sorry can't answer the rest of your qs, though I'd be interested to know how the irivers stack up against the v1 fuze + rockbox.

Also, bit off topic, but how come you haven't got rid of your classic yet then?

My classic eh, it still works...and it is engraved with "Ben's First iPod, lol."

So it's a special gadget to me.

Why would you even consider downgrading to an archaic iRiver H10 with its awful battery life when you have a stellar sounding D2+ with great battery life, and the all important Rockbox support to boot.

the H10 is nice, but its not up to par with the quality of the H1xx and H3xx, its not worth going from a D2 to a H10,

Woops, made a mistake there then, thought you were talking about something else..

Not so much downgrading. I just thought that the older/archaic iRiver players may've been better than the D2+. My mistake then.
