^ after Swiss, US team still has to go through semi final to get to gold medal game, it won't be too easy then :P

Unfortunately, there wasn't a huge upset today (I really wanted latvia and Norway to win today's games) so Swiss might have to play role of spoiler again....Swiss gave Canada a big trouble this year, and eliminated Cananda from Turin games 4 years back...

Surprisingly good, no - great hockey today in qualifying rounds though

Disappointing game today should have stayed in bed if I knew it would be over after the first period .

Russia has been weak in their defense the whole tournament and Canada kind of high light it very well

Fun with Canada-Sweden next round. That will surely be a much tighter game. The one that wins that I hold for favourite for taking the gold definiatly.

just finished watching slovaks upsetting sweden - swedish teams looked a bit flat, and lundquivist had an odd off-game.
So it would be US - Finland, Canada - Slovakia in the semis! We might have a Canada-US gold medal game this year if lucky

I don't really want a Canada-US final, I wouldn't be able to take being beaten by the US, since if they win, there will be a lot of our hopes of proving that hockey is our game (which it is ) rubbed back in our faces, but oh well, that's competition.

I'm not really impressed with Canada's goal tending or overall defence so far. Yeah we've been winning games, and mostly been keeping the puck on the other side, but whenever the puck makes it down to our end I don't feel very confident.

^ at least Lou isn't wandering around the rink taking batting practice (save for one situation when he almost did) right into our opponent's sticks. Cant really fault lou for any of the goals today though, with tons of traffic in front of him.

On the other hand, Nabokov couldn't stop a beach ball today, and same goes for usually excellent Lundqvist.
