Bose QC15 listening stations use binaural music

If you haven't had a chance, head out to your big electronics store and try them out. The whole "notice the amazing sound positions" and such propaganda are done by using binaural music. I listened three times, then got those music myself and listened (using another pair of 'phones). Binaural.

Doesn't surprise me.

I would expect any company to use high quality music that may have a trick or two to them and not exactly push it out to the public that "Hey, your other headphones will pick up the same positioning because this music is fantabulous! Oh, and buy our headphones please."

Good sales gimmick though I might say.

But they still sound like crap to me...

yeah. i also find it humorous that Blose always uses really sparkly jazz music to sell their products.
like Diana Krall and the like.
I mean, that stuff sounds good from an alarm clock radio, right?

I never heard of a legitimate binaural version of the Eagles' "Hotel California." Unless you mean BOSE hires engineers to re-mix the songs, which would mean the result would be a serious downgrade in quality for the sake of making it pseudo-surround. Which I don't think is believable.

I have a few Bose demo discs. That stuff sounds good from any crap source. The most impressive demo's are indeed binaural. However, while it sounds good from a crap source like their Bose headphones, it sounds AMAZING on great headphones.

Bose - quality demo material...crap products.

Sales gimmick indeed. If that is needed to sell, oh well..
