I'm having trouble connecting to www.Photobucket.com, I've been getting a "can not display web page" message for about 2 weeks. A web search hasn't revealed any info. Is anyone else having an issue?

No problem here. Did you try clearing your cache? Try a different browser? Other computer?

I can get to the site with the ip address, however when I attempt to login I get the "can not display webpage" error. Got to be something with my browser, IE8.

Well that's your problem, you should stop using your IEMS as internet browsers!

To be honest, at times like this you may as well give the competitors a go. Firefox is a great start!

Yeah - drop IE. Try Firefox or Chrome.

Ahaa, some DNS issue.
You could first try a different browser (ex. Firefox), then if the same issue possibly give OpenDNS a try. Using their DNS server instead of the one belonging to your ISP.

I have resolved this problem with the help of a friend who knows more about PCs and networks than anyone I know. The problem was my Linksys router. Apparently the route holds IP addresses in cache and every-now-and-then a bit gets changed/dropped screwing up the address but the router isn't smart enough to know this and continues to use the now bad IP address to lookup the site, and that just doesn't work. resetting the router cleared up the problem.
