Okay, I noticed something interesting.
My AAA battery died in my player one day and grabbed a coupke of cheap Panasonic batteries.
I thought, 'am I hearing things?' They sounded totally lifeless as I had been using Ray-o-vacs I had bought at Canadian tire.
On my most recent bus trip to the U.S, the Panasonic battery died and got a couple of American Energizer batteries at Buffalo.
Wow, what a difference. Dynamic, less aggressive and oddly more detailed.
I used to note that when I used rechargeable batteries on my old Kenwood portable, the sound was much improved.
I know I'm a vetran audiophile of 30 years, and it always amazed me as to what little tweeks in my system would do to perk up the system. Never did I expect batteries would do that.
Try it sometime if you haven't and listen carefully to your favourite recordings, you may be surprized!!
