Really doubtful!
Makes no sense to use source material costing more than the value of the end result coin.

Both the nickel and the penny cost more to make than what they are actually worth. As for source material costs, the pre-'82 pennies actually contain $.022 worth of copper these days.

true, but it is illegal to melt them you know... if anyone is concerned about that, lol. you know, you should try to get into the building destruction industry if you like this stuff. they pull out all the wires, strip them, and sell them for copper. it's legal too.
