Several Ipod LOD's (All Gone! Thanks everyone!)

As a gift for two good friends, I thought I'd introduce them to better sound by building them cmoy's and some LOD's for the Ipods. Since I had never done that before I bought a lot of extra connectors for experimentation and in case of a botch. For sale are the LOD's I made that are not going to my friends. All have been tested to work perfectly on a borrowed Ipod Touch 2G, so these should work with any Apple product that uses the same dock. Each one has a 68k Vishay Dale resistor in it to prevent the "Not compatible with Ipod" or whatever message that can pop up with third party docks.

All prices are shipped in the CONUS, paypal fees included. They are also best offer, as like I said in another thread, I am trying to recover funds for a Nuforce HDP.

First up, the Mogami Smurf:

My very first one. Since I didn't want to mess up nicer stuff, this was made with the ugliest connector and a three wire braid of some 22awg Mogami Neglex OFC wire pulled from some cable I had lying around along with a Neutrik mini. Luckily, it works perfectly! And instead of being all that ugly, it reminds me a smurf, which makes me happy. SOLD

Next is another braided Mogami:

This one uses a sleeker black connector that takes up probably only 50% of the volue the white cable does. I used 4 wires in a litz round braid of 24awg Mogami Neglex OFC. Much cleaner looking. SOLD

This time a finished Mogami LOD:

This time I went with an even smaller LOD which is half again the previous one. Can't really get any smaller. Which also means there wasn't a lot of room for great strain relief on the inside. Now don't get me wrong, everything is hotglued down, and the wires in the connector are well soldered and hotglued in place. It isn't going to fail, but the jacket of the cable was able to pull out slightly if the cable was bent at extreme angles (hopefully not real world usage). So I built some additional strain relief on the outside with hotglue and it is now really sturdy. I can't tell if it looks cool and kind of like crystal, or ghetto. Either way it still works well. PENDING

And finally, the "Saintly Silver":

This was one that I built with everything I had learned previously. It is 4 wires of 6N pure OCC Silver in teflon tubes braided in a round litz geometry. I went back to the slightly larger sleek connector, which has the best compromise of looks, slimness, and still retains excellent functionality. Only reason this isn't going to one of my friends is that they both requested Mundorf as soon as I told them it had gold in it SOLD

The "Slate":

This is a low profile experiment with epoxy putty. Mundorf wire was used for the tribraid. I originally was going to paint the epoxy black after sanding it down, but as I smoothed it out, I thought it really started to look like slate. At this point, I really like the way it looks. No need for it though SOLD
Please PM me with interest, offers, or questions.

Cheers!

PS The bubbling you see on some of the connectors is just the protective plastic that I have not removed yet.

Thanks! I have great fun learning and experimenting, although I probably won't do any more LOD's since they are pretty time intensive (at least the low profile ones), and I don't own any apple products.
