Older type of Grado pads?

Ive noticed that the pads that came with my HP-1 are different from any other ones i have seen before. They look like bowls except the soft part on the inside are much less angled than the current bowls. They also have the same kind of cuts that are found on the flats from TTVJ? does anyone know the history of these pads or are they some kind of mod made by someone?

So are you saying they look like a halfway point between being bowls and being flats? I think we need pics for further detail and examination.

If you bought it used, maybe its a modded pad by the first owner? Or maybe someone at Grado has a sense of humour and just put them on there and they watch Head-Fi daily waiting for someone to post about this and youre going to win a free Grado HP Amp?

Maybe a pair of bowl pads that have been modified ? The centre hole enlarged and some radial cuts added...
