My worlds been turned upside down - Page 3

I used to buy Sony, and have had 3 different mini disc players. Somewhere along the way they lost their Karma and innovation.
I will be a long time before a buy a Sony again.

@ TS: glad you found the sound you want!
Hey, thanks. I've found some great IEMs in my view, and a few nice DAPs too. Though I do have an S:flo2 and HSA Rocoo on the way. Doh!

well shigzeo has been blessed (or cursed) with very sensitive ears apparently and hears hiss a lot more often than the rest of us

Oh, I'd love to hear what you think about the S:flo2. I've been deciding between the X series and the flo. I can only purchase one, but I just can't choose!

erm, not quite

people prefer the design, it's not just a fashion thing, just that there's really no need for 20 odd buttons, switches & levers when someone can do this with better user interface.

ipod is not the best in SQ but for most it's plenty good enough - still they persist in wearing ibuds, lol. you can still make the most of what you have with better ear/headphones & higher encoding.

one thing negative i will say is apple products are overpriced - there must be lot's of people coming from cheaper sony's (et al) to ipods (when they can afford to).

probably sony sound has improved more than ipods in recent years, but then there is volume capping on damn near everything nowadays. two steps forward, one step back.

people don't live in caves, they're well aware of what's out there. it's like sneering at pop music for being popular.

What Basshead said still stands.

Nothing you've described, indicates any increase in sound quality over the standard mini-disc player. It's just marketing and convenience marketing.....

Caves are grrreat!!! Green living and environmentally friendly

I too was truly impressed with the S630/S730 after using both ipod touch 1G and 2G. I think the X walkman would drive those phones just fine. Moving from the S730 to the X I think one should notice an overall slight improvement in clarity, smoothness, transparency, bass control and a more noticeable expanse in sound stage and vivid conveyance of actual air around the instruments. The first thing that grabbed my attention was how much more natural it sounded than my S730.

Honestly, I have now sold an Alo Rx , ibasso D4 and now considering selling my D10 because the X series when paired with my IE8 has a more involving sound and most of the improvements those amps made were too subtle for me to justify keeping them.

The T3 sounds amazing with my Sony and GR8 IEMs. I used to use the Sony eq a lot before getting the T3, but I don't need the eq anymore at all. The T3 is a great little portable and fits in any pocket. I haven't heard the Bithead though.

Without T3 = harsh (although much better than ipod)
With T3 = warm, perfectly balanced, tighter and better bass (I actually prefer it over the D4 for portable use)
