This 4-27-71 isn't as good as his other two releases, the second half of the concert has an extra R-T-T generation, still pretty good and worth the download.

Well your counter example is one of my favorite jams so who am I to argue?

Sometimes not flowing is just what the doctor ordered. But I do get your drift...

O, the new Road Trips sure is a pleasent surprise!

So I've spent the last couple of months or so listen to the the 24 bit CM 71 shows. They actually sound much better than the official releases from the same shows. The sound seems far less compressed. Different source or different mastering or both?

Both,  but mainly Norman isn't the best at mastering and multi-track mixdown.  Norman had a better source and got not as good results.  He is OK for mastering SBDs,  but he is not able to do good multitrack mixdowns.

There are brand new miller '71 releases, as well as some from '76 and '79, well worth checking out, out bt.etree.org. :-)

Can I just throw in my vote for Hunter Seamons' matrixes? For me it's the closest thing to being on the floor at Madison Square Garden.

It took a couple days since there were only 4 seeders, but I got the 24-bit 4-29-71 a few days ago. I'll have to burn to dvd-a tomorrow. Can't wait for that Alligator Caution.

I'd love to find some other 24bit CMs. Nice to see heads on headfi.
