Thanks a lot for your report which verified what I have been told (gain 11x would be required) for single-ended.

10-2 o'clock would be prefect position.

Ok, so 11 is unitless ratio. That would be about 20dB gain. And this would be a lot more than HP100's 11dB gain. I cannot use more than 11 o'clock on HP (probably >80dB) and yet Fishski13 need 10-2 o'clock. So I guess the low voltage out of gamma2 and high voltage of my source may be the reason.

Thanks for the reply Audionut. I'm going to go with the 2x gain since the D-7000's will be my best 'phones for awhile & it don't look like too much of a problem to change the gain later on. Nikongod's post makes sense as my other amps hardly reach 10 o'clock when I'm listening as loud as I'd like.
