My Grado HP-1s have a polarity-invert switch on each of the two earpieces. A D/A converter I have also has a polarity-invert switch. A pretty useful feature for me as I can hear the difference, which varies from recording to recording; from what I've read, some folks cannot detect the difference.
Incorporating a polarity switch should be simple enough, but in a portable-music-player/headphone-amp/headphone system, what's the best place to put this switch? Also, has anyone posted plans (schema) and a parts list for a quiet polarity switch? By quiet, I also mean a safe way of reversing polarity w/o introducing transients.
Or does an outboard product exist? E.g., a switch that goes between the amp out jack and the headphone plug?
