How small is TOO small ? - Page 2

the Fiio E1 is small.

The problem I find with portable amps is the size is either too big or too small for it to mesh well with an ipod. Most of them have just odd sizes so you can't just velco it to the back of the ipod and have a nice slim package to slide into a pocket.

Whenever I pull my gear out to show the girls, they always coo about how cute and little it is.

LOL! All I read was "But my girl can't fit" and I'm like woahhh. That's just a tad inappropriate for head-fi.
Or...But my girl can't fit an "amphora" in her "back pocket"

i ended up ordering a pico which should be almost the same size (very slightly smaller) as cowon d2, but it cost me a lot more than what i wanted to spend.
But surely the most important thing is the sonic ability of the Pico, reportedly an excellent choice for a portable DAC/amp, not how well it lines up with your DAP ? I dont even bother trying to use the iPod outside of my home because I know its amp doesnt have the grunt I need - even though I paid more for the X, and got a lot less hard drive, its a much better portable solution.

If you can swallow your amp or dap it's too small. Shuffle - are you listening?

No jokes about swallowing, fellas!

What about choking on the uhh...amp. No, that is too far.

If the "amp" is really small....you could always learn "other" ways ............
