Haha SoupRKnowva I just got on to point this out to you hoping you hadn't seen it yet. I can't wait, I wish I had the money to buy the autographed LP.

Oh but I am not sure how I feel about the whole Coheed and Cambria tour buddies though.

Yeah the new song is quite a bit different, but you can still tell its them, and i like it Junturna and On Letting Go were pretty much the same album, so im pretty happy they changed a bit, or i would have gotten old with it after a long enough period of time. i wish i could afford the signed LP as well, i think i might save and the the deluxe version.

Im going to see them when they are headlining in Cleveland, instead of seeing them with Coheed.

Haha no luck dude, i follow em on Twitter and on facebook, i stay in the know

Yeah they are coming to Utah in May with Coheed to a bad venue. Oh well not like I have any other choice. Not really interested in Coheed at all. Anthony Green kills them in every way. CS will be headlining by the end of this tour .

because the music is amazing, sound quality isnt everything. And i hope you're not listening to it from myspace...everthing sounds bad on myspace. I actually think the sound quality is better than the last record

Yes it is everything. The source recording matters more than any playback hardware you may own.
Loudness war music sounds like nothing more than unrealistic noise, not to mention the fatigue from having nearly no dynamic range.

Judging by the mangled waveform loaded with clipping I find that doubtful.

I hope nobody buys their stuff until it's mastered properly, or they won't learn how to make music that actually sounds like music.

and i hope that soon you realize that you have an opinion but that everyone else does too

Actually, they compress to sell more,
no radio or tv`s going to play uncompressed music.
have you ever listen to Jazz radios?

It is factual, not opinion, that the loudness war degrades music by a lot. If you know what clipping sounds like you can't stand knowing that 99% of mainstream music is horribly clipped, or compressed down to a few db of dynamic range.
Louder is not better, unless you're getting that loudness with bigger more sensitive speakers and a bigger amp.

I'm not saying music needs tons of dynamic range, it doesn't, but what producers are doing is just plain dumb/way overkill.

That is completely wrong.

Radio stations use their own compression: plugging pristine music with reasonable dynamic range and no clipping will have the best result. I don't remember the link, but there is an audio engineer who can tell you that much, somewhere.

edit: found it i think. What Happened To Dynamic Range?

Louder doesn't sell more, if it does, then it's a simple matter of education. A 1 or 2 page pamphlet included with cds will not cost much, and serve the purpose.
