Best Tube Headphone Amps Made In China (Ebay) - Page 3

The Meixing/Ming Da amps are fantastic. And they have speaker outputs too, which makes them incredibly handy little tube amps. The sound is fantastic. I have the Ming Da MC 84C07 right now. I'll be getting one of their more powerful amps for my speakers eventually.

So many options now!!! Do you guys think i'll be satisfied with the Little Dot IV (can i get something better for that price?) or should i spend little bit more?

The one you need for Grados is the LD 1+. It's a hybrid designed for low impedance phones. If you have high impedance phones then the MKlll or lV. You could do like my brother did and get both the 1+ and MKlll. Both amps are simply stunning for the $. They completely blew away my expectations, even after reading post after post about how good they are.

LD amps have to be one of the best deals on the internet.

How is the attack and dynamics? in your face and snappy or more mellow?

Thanks!!!

MKlll has a very warm, airy, mellow sound. He put some vintage tubes in it and they warmed it up even more. It pairs extremely well with 600 ohm Beyerdynamic DT880. As far as the 1+, it pairs very well with his Grado SR325i. Since it's a hybrid, it has more attack than the MKlll, but is still very tube sounding in it's warmth. It tames those bright highs nicely, but doesn't take away that Grado crunch. It's just amazing this thing is only $104. And tube rolling options abound for these amps. One of these days, LD is going to wise up and raise their prices. I'd get them now while they are so cheap.

You mentioned MKIII 2 times with which amp did you actually want to compare

I was just letting you know the characteristics of both the MKlll and 1+. The main thing is, the 1+ pairs better with low impedance cans like Grados. MKlll and MKlV are better for higher impedances. Both are warm sounding in nature. I can't see you being unhappy with either of them as long as you get the right one for your phones.

Dark Voice 337 is the best headphone amp mass produced in China as right now. 337 is very popular in Chinese head-fi community.

Lots of good choices from China. I chose the Ming Da because of it's ability to drive speakers for my bedroom rig plus it's very easy to find 12ax7 and el 84 tubes since they are so abundant. So in a way, I think it may be the best bang for your buck if you want something that will drive headphones and speakers all in one amp with tubes. All for around $400.
