The JH16 pro is also designed for stage performers who want extra bass

if they don't want extra bass, what's the point of having dual dual bass drivers?

Get JH-13's, i cant believe i ever listened to death metal on anything else

I'm going to have to say JH-13 as well, simply because of price. JH-16 might have a bit much bass for the speed needed by death metal. If you have a $1500 price limit, you can effectively get any IEM + almost any DAP you want, maybe with an amp too.

The 16's drivers are the same as the 13's there is just more of them so the speed shouldn't be affected (as long as its amped appropriately) and there is only an extra 2dB @ 50Hz so that should only be an extra little kick right? I'd say the 16's are perfect for metal as it's usually played with a solid bass emphasis from the music that i've heard.

As long as they're from Jerry they'll be outstanding for your needs.

but as already said, the 16's are not being produced for another 2 weeks and mine wont be finished for atleast another 4 as it is with all the orders so if you want some speedy phones in a more speedy time, you may be able to squeeze in before the 16's rush if you get some 13's.

It's not worth the money when you can just EQ the JH13 to get the same bass. I've read some early reviews which say the bass is almost overpowering and not being a total bass head myself I'd say save the money and put it towards music or an amp.

i forgot to mention no customs =(.

as i dont feel like going to get a custom fit. i dont need to necessarily spend 1500 i figured it would just cover all the top IEMS

In that case just look over all the top IEMs and see which ones are fast and detailed and cater to your bass/mid/high preferences.

For only $50 more I would try the 16s myself, just so I could have "bass-driver bragging rights". I'm sure it's a balanced presentation. The 13s are over unless there's a price drop IMHO.

As far as the OPs new, "non-custom" needs, drop $1,000 off your budget or just buy the three most expensive universal IEMs you can find (IE8, SE530, Image10 for example) and keep the ones you like best, keep the 2nd best for backup or sell it and get another #1, and sell the 3rd as well.

But you will want customs at some point, so get the impressions now, or later
