Dear Head-Fi Community,

There is nothing like olde world Stax! The Stax T1 is an extremely good energizer for Stax earspeakers. This is the T1S, the difference? Includes balanced inputs, use of shielded internal wiring and the attractive brown/goldish casework.

I think this amp is quite special. I have owned quite an array of new world Stax energizers and love the way this sounds, magic with 404s. Incidentally in my experience I believe, and have also read, the build quality of older Stax products is noticably better than the lastest incarnations.

I intended to spend quite a bit of time upgrading various components, as I understand the T1S has huge potential. Upgrading internal wiring, the tubes, even things such as the RCA sockets leaves you with a formidable amp. Our beloved Head-Fi electrostatic guru Spritzer I believe uses a modified T1S as his second amp to a mighty Blue Hawaii SE.

The amp is in an excellent condition, especially considering its age and works absolutely flawlessly, and has always done so. There is a very minor flaw on the case and can be viewed in the pictures. Yet it goes unnoticed in usage.

It was used in a smoke, child, pet and even dust free enviroment. For sometime it has been unused and kept stored. Unusually for something of this vintage, I have both the original packaging in which it has reside for sometime, with the manual! See pictures.

The Stax SRM-T1S is for sale at 375 GBP, 595 USD, 430 EUR. Will ship worldwide.

Please do send me a private message if you have any questions.

All the best,
James Hawkes
